Early Life
Uju Okoli was born on 26 April 1983 to veteran actor Obi Okoli and Ajie Okoli in Akokwa, Ideato North LGA, in Imo State, Nigeria.
She grew up with six siblings, including her elder brother, Tony White, and her elder sister, Adoabi.
Education
Uju Okoli holds a degree in Mass Communication from the Imo State University. She also sat for the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and First School Living Examination.
Career
Nollywood actress Okoli has appeared in many films and movie productions. She ventured into acting at a tender age with her father’s influence in the industry,
Okoli appeared first on the big screen in the 2005 movie No More War, directed by her father. Ever since, she has landed many other roles in films and TV shows, earning her many accolades.
Uju was nominated in the Nollywood Honours Awards and the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards. She played the role of a mad woman in the movie BAMI.
Okoli’s films promote the Igbo culture and heritage. She has rubbed shoulders with other Nollywood stars such as Yul Edochie, Liz Benson, Ken Erics, and Mercy Johnson.
Aside from the Igbo-themed movies, she has appeared in English films. Some of her roles include Dara in Ex & Exes (2022), Sandra in My Coffee (2021), and Uloma in My One and Only Wife (2018).
Okoli portrayed Adaeze in the 2016 film Echoes of Love and Kayla in the 2017 film Perfect. She appeared in Throne of Terror and A Fight to Live in 2018.
